Smart TVs Are the Greatest Generations of TVs
High-resolution Smart TVs are the greatest generations of TVs that will make you feel that you will never need to leave your couch again.
You just purchased your new SeaPac home and you want to show it off by having your friends over to watch the Seahawks in the playoffs. This means you need a new TV to go into your new home. So many TV’s and so much technology, what should you get? Technology is ever improving and evolving at a speed unlike ever before. Considering the flat screen you bought not so long ago, which at the time seemed very sleek and impressive, it can be already out of date.
One of the most enjoyed features of the Smart TV is its ability to connect to the internet via a cable connection or wireless network. Applications are no longer only for smartphones and tablets, because this internet capability enables the Smart TV to download numerous applications of your choosing. Similar to other apps, these Smart TV applications can be automatically or manually downloaded and updated as needed. The market for Smart TVs is steadily increasing, warranting that while at this time there are already hundreds of applications available, several more are soon to be developed and be added to the market.
Not only can you impress your friends with the Smart TV’s extremely impressive and adjustable resolution, but many are already featuring 3D options when using certain Blu-Ray DVDs, video games, and apps. If 3D is a feature you cannot live without, be sure when ordering your Smart TV that it includes the needed 3D processing unit and that the necessary 3D glasses will be accompanying the device. It is no longer required to go to the movie theater or IMAX to experience 3D in all its gloriousness. Will this allow every day shows to be in 3d? Unfortunately, no it will not but if you feel this feature is important buying a 3d ready TV is the way to go. This cost may not be worth it to you as there can only be as many viewers of your 3D movie as you have 3D glasses.
What about the various types of TV’s and their resolutions? TomsGuide.com offers us a good list of what is a good choice and what could be a needless expense.
- 1080i is the minimum resolution you should choose, 720i is way outdated in today’s market.
- TV refresh rate is how fast your TV can display a picture, the higher the better look for 120 Hz, 60 Hz is a standard but if you can afford it this is a good place to spend a little more.
- If you’re worried about the future proofing of your purchase, seriously consider a 4k TV with great quality and is not as expensive as you would think.
- OLED TV (Organic LED) are the latest and greatest TVs but they are quite expensive. There is no question though that this offers the highest quality available on the consumer market.
- Don’t be too concerned about color gamut but try to get the highest available for a good price.
- Contrast ratios are misleading and can be fudged so it is not really as important as it would seem
- Do not consider a TV with less than 4 HDMI ports the more the merrier.
- HDCP compatibility is a must (most modern TV’s are) so check to make sure that your TV is compatible. HDCP is a copy protection method so you could get locked out of content if your TV does not have this compatibility.
- Sound bars are on the top of the list of accessories why? Because some TVs have poor sound and others no sound built in at all. Bottom line thinner screens equal even poorer quality speakers.
- Extended warranties is always your choice but your credit card company may offer protection for your new purchase.
No one enjoys searching through every crack, crevice, nook, and cranny of the couch to try and locate that misplaced remote. This will never again be an inconvenience, considering SmartTVs can be controlled through a variety of remote-less methods using your smart-phone or a tablet. Some newer models offer voice commands as a way of controlling the TV. Check to see if that is an option, does your TV have an app that will work as the remote.
What about that amazing curved panel TV? Most techies agree that it offers little in the way of improved picture quality and reduces how many people at your party that can see the screen. It is designed for straight on viewing.
The evidence is clear, typical flat screens and two-dimensional movies are now a thing of the past. Internet connectivity, numerous applications, three-dimensional capabilities, and remote-less controlling are no longer a future dream for televisions. Smart TVs make home entertainment and quality viewing so convenient, that the only reason you will have to leave your new Sea Pac home is to buy more chips and salsa.
Sea Pac Homes has new homes available in Everett, Bothell, and Snohomish.
