Maintain your Plants at Home.
Having plants in your home is a great way to decorate your house, add energy and purify the air. Maintaining these plants can be a struggle and to some impossible.
Here are some tips of maintaining and growing houseplants:
Become knowledgeable about the plant. Either read the info given on the card or check it online to get a better idea of what type of light it needs. Generally, houseplants need either high, medium or low light. Beyond this, a houseplant may need direct or indirect light.
Direct light is the natural source of lighting that comes from the window.
Indirect light is the light that comes from a lightbulb or sunlight filtered by your windows curtain or drape.
If the plant requires “High light” then it needs to be within 6 feet of a window. That will give it the best light exposure for it to nourish.
If the plant requires “Medium light” then it should be exposed to several hours of bright or indirect light. This light can come from a window or from overhead lighting.
If the plant requires “Low light” then it usually needs very little light. These plants don’t need to be by a window, they can observe their energy from a regular lightbulb but still need some source of light to nourish.
Water is essential!
The best and general way to water your plant is when the soil becomes dry. The houseplants that have special watering needs will be marked as such on their tag when you buy them.
