Making a List and Checking It Twice!
Oh, the beauty of the holidays, decorating your home, gathering with family and the sense of love and joy flowing in the air. We all love the holiday season especially Christmas, but with this holiday comes a lot of planning, spending money and shopping!
We decided to make your life easier and give you the present of ways to make shopping easier and less stressful.
1. Start early.
Even though it might be a little early to do Christmas shopping, but it will save you from waiting in long lines and searching hours for parking. Plus, it will be less stressful. Think about it!
2. Make a list & budget.
Before you go anywhere and start shopping, sit down and make a list of who you will be buying gifts for. By each name, set a budget of how much you will spend on their gift. That will give you a better sense of how much you will be spending and to not go over your limit.
3. Compare prices.
In your spare time browse online and check gift options. You can always put them in your shopping cart to compare prices. It’s also a good idea to take a walk in the mall or any shopping center near you. You might find some better deals there. Keep your options open and take your time to browse.
4. Really think about the person for whom you’re buying.
The meaning of the Christmas gift is very important. Make sure you study the person you are gifting and maybe stalk them for a while and see what they like or enjoy. It will be meaningful to get them the present they are in need of or really desire.
5. Gift cards are ok.
If you are having problems finding the perfect gift, a gift card is always a great choice. Who doesn’t enjoy a gift card? It gives us the freedom to buy what we want.
6. Sometimes it’s the experience that counts.
Just like the extended Christmas power of the voucher, a voucher that offers an experience can be a winning gift. Think spa or beauty treatment, a night away in a hotel, movie tickets, restaurant voucher, cooking school class … anything that comes with a bit of a treat or pamper factor on the side.
7. Got a big family to buy for? Why not start a secret Santa?
Too many relatives, cousins, and friends? Make your lives easier by starting a Secret Santa. Set up a budget that suits all and saves you money from buying tons of gifts. This will be a fun and exciting activity for all.
8. Beauty addicts.
Do you have a beauty addict at home? Surprise them with a gift pack of all of their favorite beauty items. It is cheaper to purchase the pack than to buy individual items. Or you can always create a basket of skin care products or makeup.
9. Is there one product they just can’t live without?
If you know what they want and have been talking about what they need all this time, why not buy it, at least you know they will for sure use it. It can be a lipstick, perfume, PSP game…
10. Fragrances are a very personal thing.
The fragrance is either a hit or miss because it is something more personal. Do some research on what perfume they like to wear or what scents they prefer. This will help you find their preference and if not, they can always return. A good department store perfume counter will help you.
11. Candles.
No one dislikes candles. It is always a safe option.
12. Fashion gifts.
It may be completely opposite to yours. You need to be ok with that and not try and inflict your style and taste on someone else. Also, make sure you know their size. Look into their wardrobe and make sure you nail it. It won’t be pretty gifting them a shirt three sizes smaller ☹.
28. Accessories may be easier.
Consider what accessories she’s really in to. Bags? Shoes? Scarves? Jewelry? All of the above? Take cues once again from what’s already in her wardrobe and shop accordingly.
PS: It is not a bad idea to hint your wish list. It will make your Santa’s life easier to buy you the perfect gift.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
